EXAMAT provides the full repertoire of both routine and customised mechanical and fracture toughness testing on a vast array of metallic and non-metallic materials to evaluate raw materials and components/products properties.

We have dedicated machine shop for specimen preparation. Specimen preparation is one of the most important steps for the mechanical testing and to counter this we have invested CNC controlled equipment to improve efficiency and maintain high accuracy.

Different mechanical tests allow us to quantify various material properties to support project specifications and failure analysis investigations where specimens are gouged out from bulk material and/or failed components.

We offer the mechanical testing and evaluation services for wide range of materials (Nickel Alloys, Aluminium Alloys, Copper Alloys, Stainless Steels- Ferritic, Duplex and Austenitics) that include (but not limited to):

• Tensile/Compression/Bend Testing: Examat routinely perform tensile/compression tests at a range of test temperatures on a vast array of metallic and non-metallic materials to a range of international standards.
• Impact Tests: Examat routinely performed a range of impact tests, including Izod; Charpy and Tensile impact tests. Testing can be performed to both European and American standards from 100˚C to -273˚C.
• Hardness Testing: Examat can perform Vickers, Rockwell, Brinell and Micro hardness tests at a range of loads using state-of-the-art automated hardness testers.
• Fracture Toughness; Fatigue and Crack Growth Testing at different temperatures and environments: Due to hostile averment applications, fracture toughness parameters such as KIC, Crack Tip Opening Displacement (CTOD), JIC, R curves and recently CTOD using SENT have been used by engineering designers to quantify the defect tolerance of components and structures subjected to both static and cyclic loads under different hostile environments. Recently Examat has tested over 100 CTOD samples for 15mm to 100mm thick steel plates and welds. Examat has highly qualified experienced manpower and state-of the-art equipment to perform both standard and non-standard fracture toughness and Fatigue Crack growth rate tests.
• Welder Qualification and Weld Procedure Testing: Examat has vast experience of welder qualification and weld procedure testing, to a range of specifications, including BS EN 287/8, AWS D1.1, DNV OS F101, API 1104  and ASME IX. Examat also provide welding engineering consultancy to EPC contractors.
• Component Testing: Examat routinely perform different components tests at a range of test temperatures on a vast array of metallic and non-metallic materials to a range of  pplication/international standards.
